Refrigeration Application Foam: Rubatex and Aerocel Elastomeric Insulation
Flexible, elastomeric insulation from Rubatex® and Aerocel® is available in ready-to-cut sheets and many pre-fabricated pipe and pipe fitting sizes. Closed-cell design allows for lightweight, moisture-resistant, thermal-efficient insulation that can prevent condensation and reduce vapor transmission. Rubatex's Insul-tube® pipe insulation has a wide operating temperature range (220° F/104° C to -70°F/-57° C).
EPDM-based (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomoer), closed-cell insulation maintains a stable thermal conductivity over a wider temperature range as compared to many insulating materials. More so, products are resistant to moisture, vapor, and ultraviolet radiation (weathering). The synthetic rubber gives closed cells a tough, durable skin so as to maintain properties.
