Fiberglass is made from extremely fine silica-based glass fibers, and various other bonding agents. Fiberglass is useful in construction because of its thermal insulation, noise reduction, and heat-resitant properties. A high surface to weight ratio also makes fiberglass an ideal building material.

Fiberglass inhibits heat transfer by trapping air within its fibers, thereby making it easier to regulate the temperature of an enclosed area. Similarly fiberglass absorbs sound waves, making it an ideal material for acoustical insulation.

Fabrication Specialties, Inc. carries flexible, semi-rigid, and rigid fiberglass blankets and boards useful for OEM production, HVAC equipment, refrigeration products, ovens, and many other applications. Our suppliers include Johns Manville, Ottawa Fibre, and Owens Corning. FSI also carefully fabricates fiberglass products according to individual client specifications.
